Stop Barking Dog

A non stop barking dog is a dog that has not been trained. A barking dog can be like having a burglar alarm, but you must have the ability to control the barking dog.

If you do not train your dog to bark at only the appropriate times then your neighbors are likely to resent you because you failed to control your dog and they could report your dog to the police.

If you want your dog to protect you and your family then teach him commands instead of just yelling at him. Once he understands your commands you will easily be able to control him and you won't have the horrible experience of a non stop barking dog.

Teaching you dog command words like "stop" or "quiet" doesn't have to be that difficult. Here is an example of something you could try. Tie his leach to a fence or something else that won't move. Stand 3 feet away and tease him with food or a toy, when he starts barking give him the food or toy.

Next put the food or toy away and change the reward to a verbal praise when he starts barking. As soon as he starts barking give him your command to stop and when he stops let him know he is a good dog by giving him praise. This can be whatever word or words you choose. In time he will recognize the words and know that he must stop barking to please you.

Continue this simple technique until you have full control of your dog's barking. You will have a well trained and behaved dog and you will both be much happier.

A non stop barking dog is your responsibility and you should begin training them when they are a puppy. The sooner they are properly trained the better it will be for you and you won't have any neighbors complaining about the non stop barking dog next door.
